Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Mint chocolate chip is a popular flavor of ice cream made of green, mint-flavored base and small pieces of chocolate chips. It's refreshing and sweet, combining the cool taste of mint with the richness of chocolate. A classic treat enjoyed by many.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream.
- 1 cup whole milk.
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
- 2 tsp peppermint extract.
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
- 3-4 drops green food coloring (optional).
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips.
Recipe:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and green food coloring (if using).
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Churn the chilled mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Once the ice cream has thickened, add in the chocolate chips and continue churning until they are evenly distributed.
- Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Scoop and serve.

Note:
The recipe yields about 1 quart of ice cream. You can double or triple the recipe as you like
